Webtech Softwares & Services Ltd, an India-based software developer, says it came up with Service Desktop Pro because, after looking at the various problems small and medium sized service providers have to face, they felt “a tool is essentially required which would enable service providers to become more efficient by having access to key business information at the right time.

So Webtech Softwares & Services Ltd came up with Service Desktop Pro, a complete solution for personal information management. The application is meant to be used by IT service providers, small business managers, web developers, software developers, consultants, and freelancers.

To the people that download and install Service Desktop Pro, the application offers a long, long list of features. Here are the bits and pieces I found to be more interesting:

• Contact management: save contact details for individuals and companies in a clean, easy to use interface. Add images to specific contacts. Search and print contacts.
• Time scheduling: set reminders and attach audio files to reminders, schedule appointments, create to-do lists, view the calendar, search and print reminders and appointments.
• Leads management: register and search leads, bids, quotations.
• Expenses management: record expenses, record invoice payments and receipts, search expenses/receipts/invoices.
• Project management: plan and execute multiple protects and tasks, create project tasks, generate Gantt charts.
• Create and attach notes/documents to activities.
• Manage paid and free web subscriptions
• Set reminders on subscription expiry.

Downloading Service Desktop Pro may take a while if you’re on a less than spectacular internet connection – this is because the download weighs in at close to 20MB. The installation process will take but a moment though. Speaking of installing applications, this one will work without a problem on all versions of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system. It will not work forever though. For the first 15-days you can use the application free of charge. Once this trial period expires, you’ll have to pay for a license to keep using Service Desktop Pro.
